Ellen G. White (1827-1915) is considered the most widely translated American author, her works having been published in more than 160
languages. She wrote more than 100,000 pages on a wide variety of spiritual and practical topics. Guided by the Holy Spirit, she exalted
Jesus and pointed to the Scriptures as the basis of one’s faith.
When the geology tour was originated by the Geoscience Institute in 1966, the White Estate was asked to assemble for the study of
the group, the E. G. White statements touching on geology. Copies of a very simple compilation of 34-pages were provided.
The interest in the subject has called for repeated reprints until the distribution runs into thousands of copies.
As plans were laid for the 1976 Geology Tour, it seemed desirable to enlarge and in some areas rearrange the materials as presented
herein. Among the items introduced in this enlargement is an Ellen G. White statement appearing in Christian Temperance and Bible
Hygiene, published in 1890, which refers to man’s transgression “for over six thousand years.” This statement, not being indexed, was
overlooked in the 1966 compilation.
One feature of the present compilation which will be appreciated is the fact that in each section the items appear in chronological
order.
We trust that in its new and enlarged form this document may continue to serve.
